- ANDERSON, BISHOP, GEORGE, MAYSE posted by Candace on Sunday, September 21, 1997
- Searching for information on my great grandparents' families. They were William Marmaduke MAYSE and Elizabeth Rachel (GEORGE) MAYSE. They met in either Pettis or Saline Co. MO and were married on 16 Dec 1888 in Saline Co. She was the child of John GEORGE and Savannah BISHOP GEORGE. William Marmaduke or "Duke" was the son of William George MAYSE and Sallie Ann ANDERSON MAYSE. Duke and Elizabeth or "Lizzie" had two children in Missouri, Lillie Fedonia (b. 1892 in Sweet Springs MO and d.1948 in Medford OK) and Archie Marmaduke (b. 1895 in Sweet Springs MO and d. 1988 in Roseburg OR). The family moved on into Kansas where their three youngest children were born and finally settled in Oklahoma on land they purchased near Medford in 1901. Although many Georges moved into Oklahoma, too, I believe a number of Mayses remain in this area (or in Pettis Co.) I would like to contact any descendants of the family and to share historical research.

- CRAWFORD, DEINET, DRISKILL posted by Linda L. Crawford on Wednesday, October 1, 1997
- I am working on the family of David DRISKILL who married Margaret CRAWFORD in 1879 in Hickory Co MO. They are both buried in DRISKILL cemetery south of Marshall near where they lived. Their children were Myrtle born 1882,Lena Elizabeth born 1883,twins born and died March 1884. A daughter Cordelia born 1876 was probably from an earlier marriage of David. Lena's 1st marriage was unknown and she had a daughter who died as a small child. Lena then married Charles DEINET in Chicago IL. She died in 1945 in Chicago and is buried there. Cordelia went to Alaska. Was this the same David who married Lavania Arterburey on 24 Aug 1873 in Saline Co and then Mrs. Elizabeth Crawford in1876 in Pettis Co? David and Elizabeth were from Saline Co according to the license.
